Section Three:

The Fourth Trimester

Secrets of the first 12 weeks

How to feed once ‘real life’ with your new baby begins.

Course content:

You will learn about the properties of your ‘Amazing Milk’ and why it is promoted as the single biggest health intervention a parent can provide for their child.

You will  understand how skin-to-skin promotes not just bonding, but also the initiation of breastfeeding and how to formulate a birth plan that will enable you and your baby to get off to the best start.

You will understand not just the ‘WHY’, but also the ‘HOW’ of Colostrum Collection prior to delivery.

This course will teach you how babies transition from birth to Breastfeeding, using their innate ‘breast crawl’ reflexes, thus setting them up for successful milk transfer in the weeks to come.

Deepen your understanding of the Fourth Trimester; including early feeds in the first few hours and days, right up to practical positioning when out and about feeding in public.  We will also introduce you to the benefits of carrying your baby for the first few months of life and beyond with practical types on the best slings to buy and how carrying is done comfortably and safely.

We acknowledge that sometimes not everything always goes to plan with birth and infant feeding, which is why we include a module on not just possible problems you might face, but also the solutions!  We will also signpost you as to when and where to access further support should you need it.

This course will support you, whether it is your first baby or your fourth!
