Laura Greenwood

I’m Laura and I’m an Osteopath and Infant Feeding Coach. I love treating ladies throughout their pregnancy and continuing with their postpartum care and now I’m able to offer feeding support which it’s the perfect combination to provide all round care. I had different experiences with breastfeeding my 3 young children with varying advice which lead me to becoming an IFC so that I can provide the best prenatal advice and help support those parents who are having difficulties with feeding their baby. I also have excellent connections for those who I feel need referring to other specialists. I look forward to meeting you and your baby and helping you on your journey!

Anna Loughrey-Wake

I have a background in complex care work with babies and young children working mainly within family homes.

While I loved this work, since having my youngest child in 2020 I have felt increasingly interested and passionate about pregnancy, birth, and the postnatal period/fourth trimester.

I began my training to be a birth and postnatal doula earlier this year (2022). I am looking forward to offering postnatal and infant feeding support to families.

Kate Finberg

MA Osteopathy, Diploma in Pediatric Osteopathy, Sports Massage Diploma, Diploma Naturopathy, Infant Feeding Coach

Services: Cranial Osteopathy, Pediatric Osteopathy, Biodynamic Osteopathy, Structural Osteopathy, Infant Feeding Coach, Pre and Post-natal care

I have been an osteopath since 2009 and have been treating babies and kids for the last 8 years. The majority of my clinic is treating newborn babies and I really love my job. Having worked closely with a lactation consultant in Sussex, becoming an infant feeding coach was an obvious next step for me. I have found that the combination of cranial osteopathy and feeding advice in one session has made such a huge difference to the new parents I see, and we have been able to progress quickly to a more positive feeding experience, be it breast feeding or bottle feeding. I am really passionate that everyone should be able to get the help and advice they need to make those first few months memorable for all the right reasons.

Silva Schuldt

BSc (Hons) Ost Med (Batchelor degree – Osteopathic Medicine), DO (Diploma – Osteopathy), ND (Diploma – Naturopathy), PgCert SPOP (Postgrad. Certificate – Specialist Paediatric Osteopathic Practice), Infant Feeding Coach

Services: I provide osteopathy for patients of all ages from newborn babies to the elderly, including women throughout their pregnancy, as well as Infant Feeding Support.

I am a very experienced paediatric osteopath. Since graduating in 1999, I have completed masters-level studies in specialist osteopathy for babies and children. I treat everyone, from newborn babies to older generations, but babies are my favourite patients.

Often, part of the presenting issues when treating babies are symptoms of reflux, colic, being unsettled, or windy. These symptoms are often caused by problems with positioning and latching on the breast, leading to difficulties for the baby to transfer milk effectively (which could affect weight gain), gulping air while suckling (leading to a “windy” baby), and lots of crying/being unsettled due to abdominal discomfort. Bottle feeding formula or breastmilk too quickly or in too large a quantity can cause similar issues.

As an Infant Feeding Coach, I can help you as new parents navigate your feeding journey by teaching you how to hand-express colostrum antenatally, helping you establish breastfeeding your newborn, tweaking the positioning of your baby for a better latch and a more comfortable feed, and teaching you how to pace-feed your baby should you decide to bottle feed.

Depending on your needs, feeding advice can be given as part of an osteopathic treatment or as dedicated stand-alone sessions.

Services: Specialist craniosacral therapy (former osteopath and paediatric osteopath) in the treatment and management of babies, pre & postnatal parents, and adults. Infant Feeding Support.

I’m a specialist craniosacral therapist (former cranial osteopath) in Hove, and I really enjoy my work helping people of all ages in the community, and also treat a lot of babies in my clinic.

I love working with babies, because it’s lovely to not just help the baby but also to help the whole family – let’s face it – an unhappy baby means a difficult time for everyone!

I qualified as an osteopath in 2010, and as a paediatric osteopath in 2013, from the Osteopathic Centre For Children. I run my own clinic in Hove, and I decided to voluntarily deregister in 2020 and now use the title Craniosacral Therapist.

Over the years I’ve treated many babies referred by lactation consultants and midwives, and I appreciate how tiring things can be when they aren’t going well, so I always ensure a warm, relaxed welcome in my clinic for parents and their babies.

I trained as an Infant Feeding Coach so I can combine feeding and positioning advice where needed together with craniosacral treatment for little ones, and the combination of the two has been very well received by parents with very positive outcomes for families who visit my clinic.

Gemma graduated as an Osteopath in 2010 form the European School of Osteopathy. She has since worked in busy clinics across Kent, Surrey and Essex. Gemma developed further interest in infant feeding after seeing the difficulties many parents face in the early days with their babies, which would often lead them to seeking help through osteopathy. In 2020 Gemma had her second child and realised quite quickly how important it is to have the correct feeding support available. It was after this that Gemma decided to train as an Infant Feeding Coach to enable her to support families with their feeding journeys alongside her osteopathic care. Melany-Jane Knight

Foundation Degree in Maternity, Infant Feeding Coach and Baby Massage Instructor

Services:
Pre-birth feeding education, Post-birth feeding support, One-to-one feeding support, Group feeding sessions, Baby Massage one-to-one or group

Hi I’m Melany, mum to four children and grandmother to three wonderful grandchildren, I struggled with breastfeeding for numerous reasons and do not have a successful story to tell.

I had my first child young and now realise that I not only had no knowledge on the benefits of breastfeeding for mum and baby but also the physiology of how breastfeeding works, there was no pre-birth education and little post-birth support other than ‘feed your baby”.  I had axillary breast tissue breast tissue (breast tissue that extends to the underarm) consequently milk collected in this area and was painful and uncomfortable, I received incorrect advice and felt like I was in the dark ages as midwives bound me up with a tight bodice and told me to massage the area and apply warm compresses, this made it worse and I got mastitis, the same process happened again with each child I had mastitis numerous times and gave up breastfeeding feeling very deflated.

I have worked for the NHS for over 25 years, starting my journey for a local primary care trust in a GP surgery.  From here I progressed to a hearing screening role at my local hospital, during this time I found when doing my rounds on the ward, women were struggling with breastfeeding and were emotional and tearful.  When performing my hearing screen I would offer support and reassurance as memories came back of my own experiences, at this point I felt a strong passion to support women to successfully achieve their feeding goals.  For the past 15 years I’ve worked in an infant-feeding role providing pre-birth education and postnatal support within the home and local children’s centres.

I have a Foundation Degree in Maternity and have recently qualified as a Baby Massage Instructor.  I’m now delighted to have completed the Infant Feeding Coach Program and I’m proud to call myself an Infant Feeding Coach/Breastfeeding Counsellor so that I can continue to offer support and empower women to feed their baby/babies with confidence.

Charlotte Joyce

Postnatal Depression and Children Nutrition Diplomas, Infant Feeding Coach, Baby Massage Instructor

Services: Pre-birth feeding education, Post-birth feeding education, One-to-one feeding support, Group Feeding Sessions, Baby Massage one-to-one or group.

Hi, My name is Charlotte and I have two amazing children aged 15 and 12.  My breastfeeding journey with my first child was a dream, I couldn’t believe how lucky I was as I had heard breastfeeding can be very difficult and challenging however I managed to breastfeed for 9 months, my second child was a completely different story, I had sore nipples that would bleed every time I fed and after a few weeks I got mastitis.  I later found out that my son had a tongue tie and by this time I had changed my positioning and attachment and he was feeding much better.

I have been working for the NHS for the last 9 years in a community based role supporting women to breastfeed.

During this time I have gained so much knowledge and experience supporting new parents, my experience includes ante-natal education, breastfeeding classes, running breastfeeding group drop-in sessions and one to one home visits.  During the last few years I have been on a journey to expand my knowledge through additional learning.  I hold a Diploma in Child Nutrition, Anatomy and Physiology, Postnatal Depression Awareness, I’m a Baby Massage Instructor and I’m proud to have recently completed the Infant Feeding Coach course that enables me to continue to support and care for women and their families to feed their baby/babies confidently.

Claire Cousins

Osteopath BSc (Hons) Ost, PgCertSPOP, Infant Feeding Coach

Services: Osteopathy and Infant Feeding Support

I graduated as an osteopath in 1998 and have been treating babies and children, alongside all other ages, from 2007 after having my first child. I have continued to increase my paediatric knowledge with regular training including a specialised osteopathic paediatric qualification.

I regularly receive referrals from midwives, health visitors and lactation consultants in Northampton and started working in the North Herts region in 2021.

I love supporting new parents and families and often see babies with latch and wind issues. I have been aware for a long while of the importance attachment and positioning play in these issues and am pleased I now have the skills needed to fully support parents as an Infant Feeding Consultant.

Kate Walton

Osteopath, Infant Feeding Coach, Tongue-tie Assessor

Services: Strutural & Cranial Osteopathy, Infant Feeding Support, Tongue-tie Assessment

Hi, I’m Kate! Happy you are reading my short Bio! Thank you.

I love helping mums create the birth and baby experience they are looking for with the health of mum and baby at the forefront! Life with a new little one is an enjoyable experience let’s uncomplicate it! I am also a mother of three (7,5 & 1 years old) all with very different birth and feeding stories which has shown me that every mum and every child all have unique experiences.

With great experience in the way the human body works I am particularly interested in treating and supporting mums, pre, during (including planning for birth) and post pregnancy, including the new arrival! I am a structural and cranial Osteopath as well as an Infant Feeding Coach and Tongue-tie Assessor. This is unique. I can provide mothers with a variety of help and advice from one place rather than having appointments with multiple people to achieve the same goal. Please contact me, even if for an informal discussion and see what we can do together to make your experience a great one!

Bethan Nicholas

Pregnancy & Postnatal Yoga, Baby Massage & Baby Yoga, Infant Feeding Coach, Photographer

Services: Pregnancy & Postnatal Yoga, Baby Massage & Baby Yoga, Infant Feeding Support, Newborn & Family Photography

After giving birth to my own daughter in lockdown January 2021 I realised what a lack of support there was both prenatally and postnatally. I didn’t want other mums to feel like I did so after completely re-training I found a career that I loved, that really made a difference but that also fit around my life and my daughter.

I think having a child does put everything into perspective and being a new parent is incredibly hard so I want to be able to help others as much as I can, which is why I also became an Infant Feeding Coach.

I specialise in Pregnancy and Postnatal Yoga as well as Baby Massage and Baby Yoga. My aim is to support women from the very beginning of their pregnancy journey right through their postnatal journey up until their little ones are 3 years old.

Lydia Brook

Infant Feeding Coach, Registered Midwife, Yoga Teacher, Pregnancy and Postnatal Yoga Teacher

Services: Infant Feeding Support, Midwifery, Pregnancy and Postnatal Yoga. I also offer gentle, accessible pregnancy, postnatal and motherhood yoga classes. Coming soon in 2023: Pregnancy, postnatal and motherhood massage 😊

Hello! I’m Lydia and I’m a pregnancy, postnatal and motherhood yoga teacher, an infant feeding coach and mother of two with a background in midwifery. After a challenging breastfeeding journey with my first baby, I realised the huge importance of compassionate, consistent and reliable support in the postnatal period.  This inspired me to undertake additional breastfeeding training, to ensure I was able to offer this to women in my care until I left clinical midwifery practice in 2015. Childcare and midwifery shifts, are sadly not compatible!

My passion for the provision of kind, consistent, accurate and accessible care in the postnatal period and into motherhood has remained. I feel that with the right support, women can feel equipped and empowered to navigate the journey into and through motherhood with confidence and self-compassion.

It all started with me becoming a Maternity Care Assistant in Brighton in 2009. I discovered my passion for infant feeding support right then and there. This developed into a dream of wanting to provide bespoke support to new and growing families in their postnatal period. Becoming a mother myself, having struggled with breastfeeding and the postnatal period in general just cemented my urge to support families postnatally.

I am incredibly lucky to have fulfilled this dream by becoming a Postnatal Doula providing a full postnatal support service or stand alone infant feeding support when you need it most.  However I am also able to provide Postnatal support, where I am able to observe the whole picture and give more than just Infant feeding support, I can support you when your baby and you are ready.

In 2018 I became a breastfeeding mum, I found joy…and pain in my feeding relationship.  It all ended abruptly for us two and a half years later when I had medical treatment, by then I was a passionate volunteer breastfeeding supporter and an advocate for holistic infant feeding support.

With a social care background, in children’s services and charity management.  A certified women’s coach since 2020, I now work in the NHS and in my own business supporting people to feed their babies.

Part witch, part activist, one of the lovers, I am all about community and connection. (I also like spending time with friends and family, reading, walking the dog, and chippy chips with a vino on a Friday)

Felicity Avery

B’Ost Osteopathy, Infant Feeding Coach

Services: Osteopath with a special interest in antenatal, postnatal and womens health.  Infant Feeding Support

Felicity graduated from the College of Osteopaths in the summer of 2021. Having two children and the pandemic within that time of study gave Felicity a new perspective on just how incredible the body is with functioning through stressful times.

Throughout her training, she developed a passion for Women’s health including pregnancy, paediatrics and Infant feeding. She particularly enjoys treating patients who have struggled with pain with no diagnosis or effective treatment from other healthcare providers; regardless of the pain location.

Her passion for osteopathy stemmed from experiencing treatment herself. At 18 she sustained a severe injury to her leg following being kicked by a horse. After the NHS hamster wheel had spun for 6 months she was left with no option but to walk with a stick forever more and live with pain. She was introduced by a friend to an osteopath; that introduction changed her life.

Her philosophy with treatment of patients is a partnership; working together to restore health. “Every treatment is individual to you, the patient, inclusive of your past medical history, your current mental and physical health, also your goals and expectations for moving forwards.

Whilst she can’t promise you miracles, she can show you osteopathy which is frequently compared to being the same thing!
